He could care less if he tests positive for feline leukemia~

He's all about living.

Marty is among the most robust and sweetest kittens we have ever met. He loves everyone he meets. He can jump as high as the shoulder of a person who is 5' 9"! Yet if you sit down, he loves nothing more than for you to hold him in your arms. He's really the perfect kitten.

Marty and his littermates test positive for feline leukemia, and therefore nee to be adopted as only cats or into families whose cats also test positive. The babies are so agreeable that we immagine they woud be fine with dogs, and they can live just fine with dogs as well!

We are looking for either a foster or a permanent home for Marty and his siblings. Our feline leukemia foster parent has toomany foster cats to give these guys as much play time and attention as they need. We are in the process of working out a permanent placement for these cats, but feel free to inquire if you would like to adopt permanently. Also please inquire if you would be able to foster for 3-6 months.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting, please call (314) 650-0178.

A Funny Story about Rusty

Just when you think you've heard it all.....  a CA advertising place wants to adopt Rusty and put him through training to star in cat food commercials.  Like Morris.  They are for real, and are very serious.  Mind you, I only do the publicity, so all my information comes filtered through the two main rescue ladies. Reportedly the trained cats have a very good life and lots of attention.  And the advertising people are making arrangements to fly to St. Louis several times to check Rusty out.  I swear this is all true!  I could not resist asking the rescue ladies: "Don't they have cats in California?"  That's what I can't figure out.

Mama Chloe is looking for her home!

Mama Chloe plays hard, just like a little kitten. Quite adorable, one of her favorite games is to burrow under a blanket and stick her head out. She belonged to a sad person who was struggling with severe mental illness, let the cats get pregnant, and lost the house. So Mama Chloe had some kittens when she came to us. Seems like now she thinks she's a kitten herself. So carefree, like the weight of the world has left her shoulders. All she is missing is her very own human!

Adoption fee of $125 covers spay, test for felv/fiv, vaccinations, microchip, and treatment for fleas/parasites. And if you adopt Mama Chloe during the month of August, she comes with her own litter box and cat carrier (our "back to school/back to a home" special).

more heartworm news but Chewie still happy

Took Chewie to the best vet I know-- I'll find out tomrrow if Chewie can be treated.  And vet says no long walks, no stress, no cat-chasing, no enticing Chewie to play. :(
Chewie is stuck in the backyard, and the vet says if I walk him it has to be less than a block.
But Chewie is still happy.

I got to look at the baby heartworms using the microscope, and I learned a lot about heartworm today.

Chewie goes to Tower Grove Park

After coffee, Chewie and I went to Tower Grove Park.  He was enthralled with the bikers and joggers.  He was a little nervous about approaching the ponds; I don't believe he has ever seen a pond or a goose.  He looked all around him, soaking up the scene.

If it weren't for Chewie, I wouldn't have gone to the park today.  Instead, I would have been home working the whole time. He's good for me.

Tomorrow, though, Chewie and I have to hit the books!

Chewie Meets for Coffee

Completely unphased by his heartworm diagnosis, Chewie insisted we meet Eve for coffee.  It was a beautiful afternoon to sit outside.  Chewie greatly enjoyed watching people and cars while Eve and I talked.

Luna is looking for a home in St. Louis!

Such a sweet sweetie pie. It's easy to get a little carried away when you try to describe Luna.  She's just so sweet!  As soon as you look at her, you hear a rumbling coming from her.  And if you talk to her those little paws start kneading away in joy.  It is hard to believe a cat like this is looking for a home, but she is!  And she would love a home where she can sleep in bed and sit with her humans while they read or watch tv.

Come meet Luna at the PETCO in Affton!

Adoption fee of $125 covers spay, test for felv/fiv, vaccinations, microchip, and treatment for fleas/parasites.
