Chewie Meets for Coffee

Completely unphased by his heartworm diagnosis, Chewie insisted we meet Eve for coffee.  It was a beautiful afternoon to sit outside.  Chewie greatly enjoyed watching people and cars while Eve and I talked.

Luna is looking for a home in St. Louis!

Such a sweet sweetie pie. It's easy to get a little carried away when you try to describe Luna.  She's just so sweet!  As soon as you look at her, you hear a rumbling coming from her.  And if you talk to her those little paws start kneading away in joy.  It is hard to believe a cat like this is looking for a home, but she is!  And she would love a home where she can sleep in bed and sit with her humans while they read or watch tv.

Chewie goes on a walk!

It was getting dark, so the pictures aren't too focused.  But his color looks pretty against the leaves.

Despite what you would expect from a dog with a background of such neglect, Chewie has excellent leash manners and comports himself very well in public!  He's interested in smelling everything, and he's completely unphased by the sights and sounds of urban life.

One of my neighbors keeps several minature poodles out in the yard 24/7 (regardless of the weather).  Today one of the poodles escaped from the fence and ran at Chewie snarling, with his teeth bared.  But Chewie ignored the poodle like he was a gnat; he didn't even look at the creature, but just kept walking calmly.  The poodle gave up when he got no reaction, and walked away, still barking.  See, when a dog is kept outside 24/7 its whole life, you expect the dog to act like the poodle, not like Chewie.  What a good boy!

Chewie, Stairs, and Chocolate

Chocolate and I were trying to teach Chewie to use the stairs.  I had some chicken to tempt him to come up, but he just stood at the bottom and looked at me forlornly.  So I gave him all the chicken just for being cute.  (That's why I am not a dog trainer.)  Then Chocolate was rubbing all over Chewie and giving him head butts.

By the way, Chewie spent last night out of the crate and had no accidents.  What a good boy!

Cheyenne is looking for home in St. Louis!

Cheyenne: a sweet and playful yet cozy kitten.  Chase away the chill with Cheyenne!  She was born to a stray mama who has already found a home.  Now Cheyenne is looking!

I forgot to add me n' Chewie!  Here we are!

By the way, Chewie is conked out now.  I got him a little low pallet kind of bed because the other one was too puffy and squishy for his taste.  He is so cute now on his little pallet bed!  I think I tired him out, especially since we had a walk after dinner!

After we came home from all that activity, we took Chewie's new daddy out to dinner to celebrate a promotion.  Chewie was very well behaved at dinner, and he enjoyed eating half my salmon and part of daddy's ribs.
